On Sunday, May 20, 2012 BOOM will be sponsoring the California Kappa Chapter of Pi Beta Phi’s 9th Annual Surf Classic in Pacific Beach! The competition will be held at Pacific Beach beginning at 7am and ending around 6pm. The purpose of our event is to raise money to benefit Pi Beta Phi’s philanthropy, First Book.
 
Contest Details:
-Heats begin at 7:00AM and will end around 6:00 PM.

Big shout out to Steve Hurly, the BOOM Boss at Illinois State University for getting BOOM involved with SKATE ILSTU and hosting an awesome event. “Skate for the Soles” was a charity event for children in Africa. A mandatory donation of shoes was the entry fee for the contest and they got a great turn out.
 
The event was also sponsored by Skate Junkies, Shockwaves Skate shop, and Void Clothing. Illinois state news covered the event and featured a great article in the paper.
