Printed Matters: Art Show

 
Street/Gallery artist and curator "Mad One" will present and team up with The Screaming Sky Gallery in Portland,OR to host this one of a kind exhibit "Printed Matters", a showcase of local and international artists, graphic designers, graffiti artists and of course avid print makers. The show will feature unique prints available in limited editions as well as in an array of print making mediums. 

Artist Highlight: James Reka

From Melbourne, Australia, James Reka is a young contemporary artist who has established himself as a pioneer in Melbourne’s burgeoning street art scene. Communicating through strong lines, dynamic movement and bold colours, his character work has come to represent the beginning of a new style of street art. Reka has developed an incredibly diligent, almost obsessive attention to the technical proficiency of his work, and it has moved him towards producing ever-increasingly meticulously detailed work.

Artist Highlight: Nate Siggard

Originally from Southern California and currently living in Tempe, Arizona, Nate Siggard is a multidisciplinary artist who quit his job to make art and travel.  Nate has worked closely with bands such as Sublime and The Dirty Heads and in 2010 he was commissioned to create the artwork for Sublime with Rome’s debut album “Yours Truly“. He recently finished touring with Sublime on their North American tour and produced live visuals for their sets. Beyond digital media and art, Nate is known for his unique tattoo work.

Artist Highlight: Eduardo Kobra

Born in Brazil, Eduardo Kobra is a street-artist known for his large, colorful murals. Kobra's use of original and iconic images along with bright, vibrant colors gives the viewer a kaleidoscope illusion. During an interview with Miami Art, Eduardo talks about his work and unique style, "My work nowadays is based on the use of old images of the cities I am painting. I visit museums, check the books and from there I come up with some images from the 20s or the 30s that show the architecture of the city.

David Walker is a unique street artist based out of London. He manages to create detailed art with solely a spray can. Once a fan of only black and white color, David now implements vibrant colors into his work. In a recent interview David talks about his style and approach to street art, "I’m drawn towards the idea of making something beautiful out of what could be classed as low-brow materials and methods." Currently a part of Scrawl Collective, David continues to contribute to the ever-growing street art movement throughout London and Europe.
